Columbiana County Park District Board to meet
LISBON--The Columbiana County Park District Board will meet in special session at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the County Park Office, 130 Maple St. The agenda will include the proposed grant application for the fiscal year 2018's Ohio Department of Transportation, Transportation Alternative (TAP) Funds for the proposed East Lincoln Street Connector project (state Route 154 east of Lisbon), as well as the summer program schedule.
'Rainforest' videoconference offered at Salem Library
SALEM-- The Salem Public Library will host "Rainforest, Layers of Life" presented by the Toledo Zoo via interactive videoconferencing at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. The presentation will discuss where rainforests are located, what they look, feel and sound like and why they are so essential.
The "Live from Anywhere" program is suitable for school students and adults alike and is open tot he public for free. Register online at www.salem.lib.oh.us, by calling the library at 330-332-0042 for registration assistance or stopping by the library at 821 E. State St.
Gettin' Crafty session planned at Salem Library
SALEM--The Salem Public Library will hold a Gettin' Crafty session at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 12 in the Quaker Room to decorate clipboards. The library will provide all the materials. Registration is required by going online at www.salem.lib.oh.us or by calling 330-332-0042 for registration assistance. The program is open to the public and free of cost to attend.
"How to Choose a Fitness Trainer" topic at library
SALEM--"How to Choose a Fitness Trainer" is the topic of the Wellness Wednesday program at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 14 in Salem Public Library's Quaker Meeting Room, 821 E. State St. The presenter will be Janie Crowl, Wellness Director at Salem Community Center, teaching how to find the best personal trainer to help achieve optimal wellness goals.
Crowl has been the Wellness Director at Salem Community Center since 2015 and has instructed fitness classes at SCC since 2013. Her certifications include Personal Training, Silver Sneakers, Water Aerobics and Spinning. She is currently the only Level 2 RRCA Distance Running Coach in the State of Ohio. She enjoys being a part of a large family and her hobbies include triathlon, marathoning, coaching marathoners and children's programming.
